Dear Insight Editor:
It has been a little over a year since I began subscribing to your monthly newsletter, and I just wanted to share with you some of the good things that have happened to me in that time. It is worth noting that I had never won or placed in a contest prior to becoming a subscriber, though I have been fortunate enough over the years to have had many of my pieces staged (sometimes even for pay!). Anyway, following is a short list of Awards and Citatations since subscribing to Market Insight for Playwrights:
* Texas World Video Short Screenplay Contest
- 2nd Place ("Off the Wall")
* Actors Theatre of Louisville 1998 Ten-Minute Play Contest
- Finalist ("Fast Pitch Softball")
* Writers Digest 1997 Writing Competition
- First Place Winner, Stage Play ("Lysistrata's Little Sister")
* M.Y.E. Festival of Shorts - Finalist ("Fishin'")
* Chesterfield Film Project - Semifinalist ("TimeKill")
* Austin Heart of Film Festival Screenwriting Contest
- Quarter Finalist ("TimeKill")
Also, "Fishin'" was published as a feature play in the November issue of Dramatics Magazine, and was purchased by Encore Performance Publishing and has been available in book form since spring. My full-length play "Lysistrata's Little Sister" was just given a staged reading by Pulse Ensemble in NYC; I am in discussions with Texas World Television about a film production of "Off the Wall," and I am awaiting word from ATL as to whether "Fast Pitch Softball" will be published in their annual anthology of ten-minute plays and/or staged at the next Humana Festival.
I'll keep you posted...keep those Market Insights coming!

Hello,
I just wanted to say that since I've subscribed to your publication, I've filled my resume completely. Not only have I had the opportunity to submit my works to theatres that I would have never known about, but my works have become "valid" in a world where "validity" is EVERYTHING. I am certainly no Sam Shepherd, Neil Simon, or Linda Eisenstein yet, but I've now had plays produced in Alaska, Tennessee, New York City, South Carolina, Florida, and Virginia. Thanks!!!!
Sincerely,
Warren H. Gore
